The village is mainly known for its Roman ancestry. The Gallo-Roman colony 'Vicus Ricciacus' near present-day Dalheim was located on the important communication route linking the Mediterranean to the Rhine and included several temples and thermal baths. The highlight of archaeological achievements was the discovery in 1985 of a theatre with a capacity of 3,500 to 4,000 spectators. The Roman character of the site is today recalled by an obelisk topped with a Roman eagle on the plateau overlooking the village. The association 'Ricciacus Frënn' also organises guided tours of the Gallo-Roman theatre and the vicus on summer weekends. In Dalheim, there are a few restaurants and small shops. The 'La Cerisaie' home of the Kräizbierg Foundation is located at the entrance to the village, near the school grounds, where people with physical disabilities can find supported housing.
