Situation Filsdorf is an idyllic village located in the municipality of Dalheim, in the south-east of the country. The village is mainly known for its Roman ancestry. The Gallo-Roman colony "Vicus Ricciacus" near present-day Dalheim was located on the important communication route linking the Mediterranean to the Rhine and included several temples and thermal baths. The culmination of archaeological achievements was the discovery in 1985 of a theater with a capacity of 3,500 to 4,000 spectators. The Roman character of the site is today recalled by an obelisk topped with a Roman eagle on the plateau overlooking the village. The association "Ricciacus Frënn" also organizes guided tours of the Gallo-Roman theater and the vicus on summer weekends. In Dalheim, there are a few restaurants and small shops.
